Dozer II

So dozer is back this morning and has cleared everything from the Placencia Bay subdivision thru Casa del Sol thru the Queensland right up to the tideline. What a fucking mess!

Beautification or War Zone

It seems that someone is doing a beautification project of the parkland beside us.  The parkland area (as rumour goes) is privately owned as it is attached to the sub division known as the Placencia Bay Association.  It is strange that not one owner was made aware that this was happening.

One rumour running about was that they were going to pave it.  Hmmmmm a paved parkland, that would be interesting.

They started work on a Sunday and told people that was because they could only work on weekends.  If they were asked direct questions it was "No English, No English".

Monday morning just before 0600, we were awakened by the sound of the machinery starting up.. Sure enough, they were back to work.  This one is right outside our gate!!!!

Lucky for everyone involved, no wires were taken out!

At this point, it doesn't look very beautiful, more like a war zone.

We are afraid that our view won't be so great.

Who knows, we could learn to get used to it?

Down right disgusting is what we call it.

This is the view that the owners will have.

Yard Work Is Never Done

Well, we are finally pulling it together.  We are planting.

In the first corner, (sounds like fight night doesn't it?) we have a lovely Pencil Cactus.

Sneaking up on the side is a cactus of a different name (to be honest, we have no idea what the name is).  This one was growing under the original cabana and we moved it and managed to save it!

We think this might be a Bougainvillea, we will keep an eye on it to see what it becomes.

We got a number of Hibiscus cuttings from a friend and we just stuck them in the ground with a bit of soil under them.  We watered them each morning and evening and the droopy leaves are starting to get some life back into them and buds have emerged. 

We have been babying this Sour Sop for almost three years now.  It would die down, become a stick, just as we were going to pay our last respects and toss it, it would show some green.  Now it has found it's final home (we hope) and it seems to like it.

There are many more plants that we have planted, and we will do updates as they come into their own.

Da Fence On Da Beach

In the beginning, we needed some dogs to protect our stuff....

Then we needed a fence to keep the dogs in and the tiefs out!!!

Cornerstones are an important part to any construction.

Materials should be laid out in advance.

Posts are set in concrete.

Finally the chain link fencing is going on.

The dogs are happy campers!!!

A Day In The Life

Part of a typical day for us... yes we are lazy!!!

First we have a sunrise, this one was a little different but interesting.  The water is flat calm and perfect for an early morning kayak.

Then we say good morning to Woody as he peeks out from the palm fronds!!!!
